A Tekmetric alternative for small independent shops

ORAVA is a lower-cost alternative to Tekmetric for small independent auto repair shops: $99 a month or $990 a year for unlimited users, with text-to-approve estimates, repair orders, digital inspections, invoices, card payment links, customer texting and an AI assistant included, a 14-day free trial and no contract. Tekmetric's published plans start at $199 a month and add a labor guide, technician tools and many integrations that ORAVA does not have.

Published prices side by side

Both companies publish their prices, both allow unlimited users, and neither asks for a long-term contract. The difference is the entry price and what the entry plan includes.

What ORAVA Auto includes for $99

ORAVA has one auto-shop plan, so a two-bay shop and a five-bay shop get the same tools:

  • Estimates approved by text. The customer opens a link, approves or declines each job and signs with a finger — no app, no account.
  • Repair orders and a status board. Every car from waiting-on-approval to ready-for-pickup, with canned jobs, your labor rates and your parts markup.
  • Digital vehicle inspections. Green, yellow and red items with photos and notes, shared with the customer by link.
  • Invoices and payments. Close a repair order into an invoice, text a card payment link, or mark it paid however you take payment today.
  • Customer texting and one inbox. 500 texts a month are included, plus automatic follow-ups on work a customer declined.
  • An AI assistant. It answers questions about your shop and prepares invoices and messages — nothing is saved or sent until you confirm.

Where Tekmetric is the stronger choice

Tekmetric is a larger, longer-established product, and some shops need what it has and ORAVA does not:

  • A built-in labor guide and maintenance schedules (Grow plan and up). ORAVA suggests labor hours from your own past jobs and its shared job library, but it is not a licensed labor guide.
  • Technician tools — time and job clocks, a technician board and employee performance analytics. ORAVA has no time clock.
  • Integrations. Tekmetric lists more than 50 third-party integrations, including CARFAX. ORAVA has no parts-ordering or accounting integration today; your data exports to a spreadsheet at any time.
  • Multi-shop operations — a multi-shop add-on, enterprise reporting and a dedicated account manager on its top plan.

Which one fits your shop

If you run a busy multi-bay shop that relies on a labor guide, technician time tracking and integrations with your parts suppliers and accounting, Tekmetric is built for that and is worth its price.

If you are an owner-operator or a small team with one to five bays, and you want estimates, approvals, inspections, invoices and customer texts on the phone in your pocket for $99 a month, ORAVA is the simpler fit — and you can find out in a 14-day trial instead of a sales call. ORAVA is made in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey, by Aquila & Priscilla LLC.

Frequently asked questions

Is ORAVA cheaper than Tekmetric?

Yes, at list price. ORAVA Auto is $99 a month or $990 a year. Tekmetric's published plans start at $199 a month ($179 a month billed annually) for its Start plan, as checked on October 16, 2026.

Does ORAVA have a free trial?

Yes. Every new shop gets a 14-day free trial. Tekmetric's FAQ says it offers free demos and self-guided tours rather than a free trial.

Does ORAVA have a labor guide like Tekmetric?

Not a licensed one. ORAVA suggests labor hours from your shop's own past jobs and from its shared job library, and you can save canned jobs with your own hours. If you depend on a full labor guide, Tekmetric's Grow plan and up include one.

Can I run ORAVA from my phone?

Yes. ORAVA has apps for iPhone and Android and also runs in any web browser. It is designed so an owner can write an estimate, take inspection photos and send an invoice from the phone alone.

Can I take my data with me if I leave ORAVA?

Yes. You can export your customers, vehicles, repair orders, invoices and the rest to a spreadsheet at any time, and if a subscription lapses the account turns read-only — nothing is deleted.

Who makes ORAVA?

ORAVA is made by Aquila & Priscilla LLC, an independent software company in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey, founded by software and AI engineer Israel Traore. It is not affiliated with Tekmetric.
