Text-to-approve estimates for auto repair shops
Text-to-approve estimates let an auto repair shop send the estimate to the customer's phone as a link. The customer sees each job and its price, approves or declines job by job, and signs with a finger — no app to download, no account to create, no phone tag. In ORAVA Auto the signed approval is kept on the repair order with its date and time, and the feature is included in the plan: $99 a month or $990 a year, unlimited users, a 14-day free trial and no contract.
How it works, step by step
The whole approval happens on the repair order you are already working in:
- 1. Build the estimate. Add jobs to the repair order, each with its labor and parts lines, from your canned jobs or from scratch.
- 2. Text the link. Send it for approval. The customer gets a text with a link that opens in the phone's browser.
- 3. The customer reviews each job. Every job is listed with its own price, so the decision is made job by job, not all or nothing.
- 4. Approve or decline, then sign. The customer taps approve or decline on each job and signs with a finger on the screen.
- 5. You see the answer on the repair order. The decisions show up on the repair order, and the signed approval is stored with its date and time.
When you find more work
Cars rarely hold still at the first estimate. When a technician finds more work halfway through the job, you send a new approval round for just the added jobs. The customer gets a new link, decides on those jobs, and signs again; the earlier approval stays exactly as it was signed.
Work the customer declines is not forgotten either. ORAVA sends the customer an automatic follow-up text later about the work they said no to, so a declined job can come back as a scheduled visit.
Why shops approve estimates by text
A phone call leaves you waiting for a callback and leaves nothing in writing. A text link fixes both:
- No phone tag. The customer answers when they can, from wherever they are, and the car does not sit on the lift waiting for a callback.
- A written, signed record. Each approval carries the customer's signature, the jobs approved and declined, and the date and time — the kind of written authorization New Jersey requires before repairs.
- Clear prices up front. The customer sees what each job costs before saying yes, so the bill at pickup matches what they approved.
Not an auto shop? Contractors use ORAVA Pros
Contractors and service pros get the same text approval on ORAVA Pros, on the Growth plan at $49 a month for the whole crew. You build the estimate on site, attach photos, text it, and the customer taps Approve and signs. The approved estimate becomes the invoice, with nothing retyped.
Stores and service businesses: ORAVA Business
Retail and service businesses send estimates from ORAVA Business. Approval by text is part of the Growth plan; on the Starter plan, customers approve by email or in person, signing on your device.
Frequently asked questions
Does my customer need to download an app?
No. The text contains a link that opens in the phone's web browser. There is no app to install and no account to create.
Can the customer approve some jobs and decline others?
Yes. Each job is approved or declined on its own, and the repair order shows which ones were approved.
Is the text approval kept as a written record?
Yes. ORAVA stores the customer's signature with the date and time on the repair order. New Jersey requires written authorization before repairs; check the rules that apply to your shop.
What if I find more work after the customer approved?
Send a new approval round with just the added jobs. The customer approves or declines those and signs again.
How many texts are included?
ORAVA Auto includes 500 text messages a month. If you need more, you can add prepaid message credits.
Who makes ORAVA?
ORAVA is made by Aquila & Priscilla LLC, an independent software company in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey. It runs on iPhone, Android and any web browser.
