A Shopmonkey alternative for small independent shops
ORAVA is a lower-cost alternative to Shopmonkey for small independent auto repair shops: $99 a month or $990 a year for unlimited users, with text-to-approve estimates, repair orders, digital inspections, invoices, card payment links, customer texting and an AI assistant included, a 14-day free trial and no contract. Shopmonkey's published plans start at $239 a month with three user licenses and add licensed parts and labor data, parts ordering and its own card reader, which ORAVA lacks.
Published prices side by side
Both companies publish their prices. ORAVA has no per-user fees; Shopmonkey includes a set number of user licenses in each plan and charges for extra ones. At the published rates, six people on Shopmonkey Basic cost $239 plus three extra licenses: $299 a month.

What ORAVA Auto includes for $99
ORAVA has one auto-shop plan; everyone gets the same tools, no extra license:
- Estimates approved by text. The customer opens a link, approves or declines each job and signs with a finger — no app, no account.
- Repair orders and a status board. Every car from waiting-on-approval to ready-for-pickup, with canned jobs, your labor rates and parts markup.
- Digital vehicle inspections. Green, yellow and red items with up to six photos each, shared with the customer by link.
- Invoices and payments. Close a repair order into an invoice, text a card payment link, or mark it paid however you take payment today.
- Customer texting and declined-work follow-ups. One inbox per customer, 500 texts a month, and automatic reminders for work a customer declined.
- An AI assistant. It answers questions about your shop and prepares invoices and messages; nothing is sent until you confirm.
Where Shopmonkey is the stronger choice
Shopmonkey covers more of the shop's back office, and some shops need what it has and ORAVA does not:
- Licensed parts and labor data. MOTOR parts and labor and an ALLDATA integration from Clever, plus MOTOR diagrams and procedures on Genius. ORAVA suggests labor hours from your past jobs and its shared job library; it is not a licensed labor guide.
- Parts lookup, ordering and purchase orders. Lookup and ordering on every plan, purchase orders from Clever. ORAVA tracks your stock but has no parts-ordering integration.
- Integrated payments with its own card reader. Shopmonkey sells a card reader ($299 plus $10 a month per device). ORAVA texts a card payment link or records payments from your own terminal.
- Shop management extras. A time clock, Google reviews and coupons managers, 30+ built-in reports and a QuickBooks Desktop integration (extra fee). ORAVA has none of these today; your data exports to a spreadsheet anytime.
Which one fits your shop
If your shop depends on MOTOR or ALLDATA, orders parts from inside its software and wants a card reader, a time clock and detailed reports from one vendor, Shopmonkey is built for that.
If you run one to five bays alone or with a small team, and want estimates, approvals, inspections, invoices and customer texts on your phone for $99 a month — without counting licenses when you hire — ORAVA is the simpler fit; a 14-day trial will tell you. ORAVA is made in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey, by Aquila & Priscilla LLC.
