With Tap to Pay on iPhone, your iPhone becomes the card reader: accept contactless credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and other digital wallets — no additional hardware required.
Where it works
- In the ORAVA app on iPhone, with a recent version of iOS. It is not available on Android, iPad or in a web browser.
- For businesses in supported countries (including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan and much of Europe). Elsewhere the option is hidden.
- Your business needs a Stripe account connected in Payments Setup, with its business address complete.
Enable it (once per business)
- Open Payments Setup and tap Enable Tap to Pay on iPhone — or tap the Tap to Pay tile the first time you get paid.
- Tap Continue. Apple asks you to accept its terms; it takes a minute and only needs doing once.
- Only an administrator of the business can accept them. Each business you run accepts them separately.
Tap See how it works any time for Apple's short guide.
Take a payment
- Open an invoice, tap Get paid, then Tap to Pay on iPhone (it is also a payment method at the Point of Sale).
- Present your iPhone to the customer. They hold their card horizontally, or their phone, at the top of your iPhone for a few seconds.
- When the check mark appears, the payment is done and the invoice is marked paid. If a PIN is needed, the customer enters it on your iPhone.
Refunds
Open the invoice and tap More → Refund.
